Good news! I’ll be running some awesome games at Gen Con this year for Pelgrane Press’ 13th Age (big shocker). Seeing as I already have the schedule for my games, I could post it here…But I’m not sure if I will. Really depends on the feedback this post gets.

Last year, I was given the offer to run games as well but had to turn it down, seeing that I live in Boston and that’s a pretty long trip. Vacation time from work is a beautiful thing and it’s what is making this excursion to Indianapolis possible for Gen Con 2016. Words can’t describe how exciting this is. Being a volunteer aside, I’m excited for the convention regardless. What really grinds my gears though is that I’ve already purchased badges for my friends and I, booked the hotel for the whole week and have my budget almost 100% planned out yet there’s no event schedule until May. What the hell is that? I know Gen Con is big but dude… c’mon. I know it won’t be the case, but I can’t help but be plagued by this insane paranoia that the event schedule will be released and I’m going to be unsatisfied with what’s going on while I’m not GMing. That scares the crap out of me!

I want my first Gen Con experience to be magical and amazing. But then again, who doesn’t? Conventions of any kind can be stressful and things can go awry, I know. But this… This is the mecca! This is the con of all cons, the best convention in gaming! I should have more faith, honestly but I just can’t help it.

Enough of the sob story, because there are a few things I know are gonna be awesome. The guys from the RPG Academy are gonna be able to hang  out with me, woo! Also I’m looking forward to meeting Rohit from Gamers Plane, considering there’s a large deal of banter between us on Twitter from time to time. This convention should be awesome as a networking event as a whole, seeing how I want to really make this blog shine and be seen from all corners of the web-o-sphere. Michael, if you’re reading this, you’ll be extremely happy to know that I took your advice from the podcast and did not schedule any 8 a.m. games to run, and don’t play on attending any events on that time. Simply can’t commit myself to the lack of sleep.

When I’m not GMing 13th Age though, as much as I want to play in other 13th Age games, it would almost be a waste of a con to do that. To be honest, I’m throwing the idea back and forth in my head about going out of my wheelhouse to maybe go play some non-RPG games like Attack X-wing or some card game or something. Just to get the diversity in there. One things for certain, I’m going to play as many games as I can that are completely new to me.

Hope to see you all there! Until then…
